Various South African and International associations provides PHD with supplementary specialist knowledge in the environmental, water, mining and radioactivity fields. PHD has associations with SENES Consultants based in Toronto, Canada and Brenk Systemplanung based in Aachen, Germany.

PHD has an extensive client base which covers all the major mining groups in South Africa, the power generation, chemical processing and petrochemical industries, the water, environmental and mining regulatory agencies and the research funding agencies such as the Water Research Commission and the Chamber of Mines. SENES Consultants and their associated companies of SENES Oak Ridge Centre for Risk Analysis (USA) and Decommissioning Consulting Services LTD (Canada), have an extensive client base, primarily within mining and industry, in Canada and throughout the world. Brenk Systemplanung specialises in research and consulting in all the environmental disciplines and is currently the lead consultant for the German regulators in the ħR40 billion decommissioning of the former Wismut uranium mining complex. It is believed that through these associations PHD has brought a major new force to bear in assisting the South African mining industry in addressing environmental issues.
